I’ve been helping people for about 25 years now, using a mixture of Healing, Reiki and Shiatsu. When I was young, if I gave someone a massage, people told me that it felt “different” to others, my hands felt so “hot”. I also seemed to be able to intuitively feel where someone was in discomfort and what to do about it. I could feel an energy in and around people, and it was news to me that this wasn’t normal! To try and understand what was happening, and what I was feeling, I studied Reiki to Master Reiki level and then trained for 3 years part time in Zen Shiatsu. This gave me a great grounding in Japanese well-being, and working with someone’s energy (otherwise known as Qi or Chi). Whilst studying and practicing these disciplines, I also worked non-clinically in the NHS, and believe, given the opportunity, that eastern medicine can complement western medicine.
Many years later, I can offer very deep, relaxing, gentle, energising, effective support. Tuning in to your physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs, each treatment is tailored to exactly what you need that day.
Along the way, I came across Inner dance, which I have found to be a very powerful, active, music induced release and mediation.
More recently, I have trained as a Kundalini yoga teacher and Nordic walking instructor. Initially I trained in these disciplines for my own benefit and fitness, as I enjoy all over body exercise especially outdoors. Since training, I have found joy in sharing these with others, and so have developed a regular kundalini yoga class, and offer introductions to Nordic walking.
I have a degree in Neurobiology and a Life Science PhD with a particular interest in the nervous system, pain reduction, hormones and managing stress.
My aim is to share as much knowledge and hands on support as I can to enable you to make your transition to being as balanced and healthy as you can be.
