I discovered yoga over 25 years ago, but it wasn’t until the ripe old age of 50 that I decided to become a yoga teacher. 

Whilst I have taught yoga all over Derby, it wasn’t until I found the Elephant Rooms that I felt I had finally come home. I feel the tranquillity and ambiance of Elephant Rooms enhances my Vinyasa Flow classes, which I enjoy making accessible to students of all levels.

Without a doubt, yoga has helped me with my own physical and mental health, allowing me to find a balance and equilibrium in my life. This is what I want to share with my students, the ability to help manage life’s stresses and anxieties by using flowing yoga postures, beautiful breathing techniques and calming mediations.

My belief in the power of yoga led me to train in Trauma Sensitive Yoga: a specialised form of yoga for survivors of complex trauma and PTSD, which focuses on empowering individuals and helping them regain a feeling of safety inside their bodies. I am often left in awe at the strength and resilience of trauma survivors and am proud to be able to offer specialist yoga classes to such deserving individuals.
