What is it?
A safe, inspirational, creative, educational and inclusive space for people,
Delivering activities focused on physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing
Supporting nature recovery and enhance biodiversity
Integrating the land within the community
Being sensitive to the land and its sense of place
Open to all, the project is helping deliver nature recovery priority habitats of lowland meadow and wet woodland while contributing to community led mental, physical and spiritual health.
Where is it?
Upperdown Meadow is just 0.5 miles from Elephant Rooms - off Wilne Road, adjacent to the River Derwent.
Please note: there is no general parking at the site, on-street parking is available around Elephant Rooms in Draycott, west of South Street.

Over the next few years we shall aim develop a programme of activities for:
Connecting with nature activities such as forest bathing
Bush craft
Meditation and mindfulness,
Outdoor talking therapy
Outdoor classroom and workshops
Outdoor movement sessions ie Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, etc.
A fire pit with surrounding seating, suitable for outdoor cooking, ceremony and song
Foraging
Forest school
Retreats – usually weekends and unlikely to be more frequent than twice a month and usually in the summer months.
Create a child safe/family friendly space, messy play area
Events held by our community of therapists/facilitators
Event space hire

Drop-in Thursdays
Every Thursday 10am - 4pm.
Come when you want for as long as you fancy. Take part in land management or just enjoy the space. Just let us know you are coming (see WhatsApp link above).
